The Jurby Airfield will now be run by a consortium of Jurby users, and the company is called Jurby Sports & Leisure Ltd. It has representatives from the ARA, IOMKRA, Duke Tracks, Model Flyers, & the Manx Kite Flyers, and an independent Chairman. The final agreements have been signed over by the DoT to JSL, the airfiels is now managed by JSL for all events that take place on Jurby Airfield, you can see what events are going on by looking at the event calander here, by Sam Adcock
The updated & revised race programme is now available to download from here for the 3rd Round of the 2008 Championship, this coming Sunday.

New Track
The new track has now been scratched out on the surface of the new location of the track on Jurby airfield, below is an aerial view of the track for all to see. Hopefully soon the tarmac will start to go down, just waiting for the final agreements to be finalised with the Government, go and take a look and give us your opinion.....

The Isle Of Man Kart Racing Association’s 2nd Round of the Championship sponsored by Manx Metals was held in glorious weather on Sunday at Jurby Airfield. The good weather produced some impressive driving throughout all the classes. The Rotax Max 177 and 125 drivers combined forces with Daniel Crosslet’s second time out in the 125 class taking the first heat and going on to take the honours ahead of Rob Birnie and Mark Cubbon in the final with Rob Birnie setting the fastest lap of 48.48 seconds. Jacques Evans won all three heats in the 177 class and the overall final in the combined class ahead of Stephen Gregg and Dean Elven, also recording the fastest lap of 49.05 seconds. There was some good battling going on in the Cadet class with Marie Crowe taking the first and third heat and Alex Maxwell the second heat as Marie went on to win the final closely followed by Alex Maxwell and Frazer Maclean in third. Fastest lap was set by Alex Maxwell. Honda Junior’s also saw some great racing with Damien Crowe claiming the first and second heat and Elliott Alexander the third, and also to going on to claim his first winning trophy closely followed by Sam Coombes and Damien Crowe in third who also set the fastest lap of 58.30 seconds. Junior TKM 4 Stroke saw some intense racing between Manx Motorsport Youth Trust Recipient Andrew Johnson and Andrew Hughes. Andrew Hughes claimed all three heats and the final to win by 0.00.29 of a second from Johnson who also set the fastest lap of 52.32 seconds with Chris Moore in third. Wesley Dowling had a clean sweep of wins in the heats and final in the Senior TKM 4 Stroke class also recorded the fastest lap of 50.72 seconds followed by Dave Hughes and Andrew Campbell in third. World Formula, Honda Senior and Honda Senior Heavies were combined with Daniel Bougourd winning the world Formula class and also setting the fastest lap of 55.12 seconds. Wayne Hargrave claimed the first and second heat with Hock Chan the third but Hargrave was back on form to claim the chequered flag in the final in front of Hock Chan and Novice driver Angus Alexander in third. Wayne Hargrave also set the fastest lap of 57.82 seconds. There were some intense battles throughout the heats and final in the Honda Senior Heavy class with Dean Ayres claiming the first heat, Steve Lea the second and Dave Gaggs the third also going on to win the final closely followed by Steve Lea and Dean Ayres in third. Steve Lea set the fastest lap of 58.64 seconds. Well done to all Novice drivers.
Thanks go to the clerk of the course Martin Blackburn and all the officials, marshals and paramedic, also Tommy for supplying food and drinks throughout the day. The next meeting is on Sunday May 18th spectators welcome.
